A wedding needs to be celebrated.
Nestled in Edgewater, MD, just minutes from Annapolis, Historic London Town & Gardens offers the ideal setting for a private and tranquil celebration. Spanning 23 acres of immaculate gardens, a charming historic property, and breathtaking waterfront views, this venue provides a romantic ambiance and stunning backdrops to share unforgettable moments with family and friends. Frequently asked questions
Since we include the tent in our pricing, any event after November is considered “off season.” We store the tent away until mid-March, and therefore, any rental during that time frame is a Pavilion only rental. You can seat around 80 in the Pavilion or do a standing cocktail style event for about 125. Please inquire about our hourly rate for off-season rentals.
Our venue comfortably accommodates up to 200 guests with our existing amenities. If you'd like to extend capacity to 240, you can work with a rental company to add an extension tent. For celebrations exceeding 200 guests, we are happy to accommodate your needs; however, additional rentals, such as a restroom trailer and extra tenting, will be required to ensure your event runs seamlessly.
A 1-hour ceremony rehearsal can be hosted the day prior to your wedding. All rehearsals are scheduled at 60 days out so that we have a good grasp on our events schedule. Rehearsals are included in your fee as long as they are during public hours. After hours rehearsals are $75. London Town staff may be on site, but they do not assist with rehearsals. Keep in mind, we frequently have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rentals. If there is a wedding the day before you, your rehearsal will be based around their rental time.
We allow candles as long as they are enclosed in a votive. We do not allow sparklers or wish lanterns. All items hung in the tent or Pavilion must be done by a professional company. We do not allow anything to be applied to the walls that will cause damage (nails, tacks, heavy tape, staples, etc). Other than that, we encourage you to bring your design to life here!

Before you say, "I do", begin your day in our peaceful and serene lounge. Here you and your wedding party can touch up your hair and makeup, take a few photos, and relax in a comfortable and climate-controlled space. With dress hooks, a floor length mirror and plenty of seating, our lounge is the perfect place to gather your thoughts as you prepare for your walk down the aisle.

After looking at venues all around Maryland, DC, and Virginia, we were so excited to find Historic London Town & Gardens for our wedding this past October. From the moment we arrived at the venue, we had the instant feeling that this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The setting on the South River, with the beautifully landscaped gardens and historic sites throughout, was exactly what we were looking for. The Director of Private Events at London Town, was so knowledgeable about the property and every last detail concerning our wedding. We instantly felt as if she was a close friend, and our interactions with her were always collaborative dialogues about details and personal touches for our own unique event. She made herself available to us for any and all questions or concerns that we had, and always got back to us extremely fast (if not immediately!). Our Month-Out walk-through meeting put our minds at ease and instantly reduced the pre-wedding stress we were having.
When the big day arrived, the grounds were impeccably manicured and the event spaces were beautiful, clean, and ready for set-up. Our delegated London Town event coordinator, greeted all of our vendors and directed them so efficiently we didn’t even notice all of the logistics going on around us. She introduced herself to us when we arrived and made herself available for anything that we might need throughout the event. All of our guests remarked about the natural beauty of the ceremony and reception spaces as well as the historic locations spread throughout the venue. Choosing London Town as the setting for our big day was hands down the best decision we made and the event could not have been more perfect thanks to the London Town team.
